About SDF (Sports Development Foundation)

SDF began as a grassroots effort in Calgary when a few dedicated volunteers realized how many promising athletes were dropping out simply because they couldn’t afford equipment or registration fees. Determined to break those barriers, we pooled resources to offer essential financial support and mentorship sessions. As word spread and success stories grew, the initiative became an established non-profit, expanding its reach to provide scholarships, leadership training, and more. 

We are a Calgary-based non-profit dedicated to empowering youth through sports, regardless of their financial situation or background. SDF provides free mentorship, funding, and scholarships to help young athletes chase their dreams. With SDF’s support, a child who couldn’t afford new skates or tournament fees can get the equipment and grants needed to stay in the game. We’re shaping confident, community-minded adults while continually seeking innovative ways to reduce waste and promote sustainability in sports.
